A new boat bar will dock in Greenpoint by May

Despite it being leagues from sailing season, a new bar in Greenpoint is primed for boat-bound boozing. Brooklyn Barge Bar, situated on the East River near Transmitter Park, is the next to join the ranks of floating bars, along with the Frying Pan in Chelsea and Grand Banks in Tribeca.

Though it won't set sail like North River Lobster Company, the watering hole will offer expansive views of the Manhattan skyline and a menu of hamburgers, sandwiches and fries. Currently scheduled for a May 1 opening, its season will run through October and hours will be 11am to 2am daily. With 100 spots available on board, there are an additional 10 to 12 picnic tables available on land for overflow seating.
