A healing Himalayan salt cave is coming to the East Village

In my unending quest to chill, I finally visited the Russian & Turkish Baths in the East Village over the weekend. I wouldn't say it was chill, exactly. Bracing. Terrifying. Invigorating. Bacterial. But not chill. So the mission continues, and a new East Village spot has just stepped into the arena to vie for your relaxation time (and money).

Montauk Salt Cave will be opening a new location on 10th Street later this summer, where guests will be able to enjoy the healing and therapeutic properties of magnesium, calcium, iron and other elements in a Himalayan salt cave. While they aren't officially endorsed by the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America, salt rooms are said to heal respiratory, inflammatory, skin and sinus issues. And, naturally, just like the best spas in NYC, they're a sweet spot for easing anxiety.

In a rather fun salt room coup, Modrn Sanctuary (one of the best places to meditate in NYC) just opened up its own Himalayan Salt Room inspired by the Montauk flagship cave.

Can we get Goop on the horn about this?
