This downstairs lounge, beneath the restaurant Providence, has been serving playful cocktails like the Orange Crush (Bacardi O, Orange Curaçao, lemon juice and Sprite) and well-mixed martinis since April. The room features a brick floor, which gets plenty of action on Friday and Saturday nights, when the DJ spins ’80s, reggae and hip-hop beats for a mixed crowd of bankers, young professionals and tourists. You’ll find quieter refuge in the upstairs lounge, which was once a Baptist church and later a recording studio for Jimi Hendrix and John Lennon.
