The menu at this West Village bistro is as classic as its surroundings. Exposed brick lines the wall behind the bar, and wooden rustic wooden tables fill the space. You’ll see modern takes on traditional appetizers like chicken liver foie gras, steak tartare and oysters by the dozen on the small plates menu. As for entrees, there’s the black pepper fettuccine with pancetta, sprout leaves and pecorino, the eponymous burger with onion jam and your choice of roquefort, cheddar or gruyere or the sea scallops with squash puree, smokey pickled mushrooms and prosciutto. On any given weekday, stop by for the happy hour until 8pm to sip two-for-one beers and select wines while nibbling on shishito peppers or twice-fried chicken for an admirably low price.
