The best wine delivery in NYC

Astor is a bona fide wine megastore. Offering plenty of walking space between its vino-verdant shelves, Astor is a tranquil respite from the crowded chaos of lower Manhattan where you’re able to peruse thousands of potables, both common and obscure, from around the world. Deliveries in Manhattan below 125th Street, same-day delivery can be offered for $30 for upto four cases of wine. Inquire if you intend to place orders that are larger than that. 

One of New York’s most successful restaurateurs, Andrew Tarlow is known for neighborhood-y hits like Diner and Achilles Heel. Now, he’s set his sights on a bottle shop that does delivery online. If you're in their Brooklyn radius, shipping will be cheaper. But they also have an expanded delivery radius via FedEx. Call for a quote on shipping. 

You'll quickly become enraptured by its expansive wine and spirits offerings, which include everything from biodynamic wines to vintage amaros. Chamber Street's immense offerings are, yes, available for local delivery and pick-up. 

One of New York's best wine delivery options is Henry's in Bushwick. This wine shop comes from the same restaurateur of  nearby hidden gems like Petra and Sunrise/Sunset. Check out its ever-changing roster of hip new pours. Note: they only do free shipping with orders over $300. 

The Bushwick restaurant Ops is known as much for its natural wines as for its standout pizza, so much so that co-owner Marie-Anna Tribouilloy opened up her own wine shop nearby. Currently, pick-up and delivery are only available by emailing hello@foretwineshop.com or calling 718-456-1150. If you live in Ridgewood or Bushwick, there is no minimum for delivery, but beyond that radius the minimum will be four bottles.

Though their website may not look particularly hip, Nolita Wine Merchants has some of the city's coolest purveyors of wine imaginable. Local Manhattan delivery is free but it can go up to $20, depending where in the city you reside. 

Ceramicist Michal Sprecher makes swirling plates and bowls, but now she also has a wine shop. Here, peruse her selection of acidic reds, crispy whites and spirits from around the world, then check out her collection of vintage barware. Right now, you can order online or via phone, but they are doing pick-up orders only. 

Lately, it feels as if the phrase natural wine is just shorthand for “it’s a cool restaurant,” despite the fact that people have been drinking unadulterated fermented grapes for thousands of years. But Fabián von Hauske Valtierra and Jeremiah Stone have long championed natural wines for their flavors and sustainability at their downtown hits Wildair and the tasting-menu–only Contra. They’ve taken it a step further with Peoples, a rare wine-bar and wine-shop hybrid that's located in the cellar-level Market Line food hall. Here, founders Ashley Santoro and Caitlin McConnell celebrate female winemakers and New York State vineyards. Along the wall, the bottles are arranged like a wine list, moving from lighter to fuller-bodied selections. You can order for pick-up or delivery via texting 917-783-3798. The immediate Two Bridges area is free for delivery. 

Italian restaurant Barano has seen Williamsburg through many changes and its little sibling—this newly-debuted wine shop—will be an equal companion for the area. Currently, the team is offering orders for pick-up or delivery (those in the Greenpoint/Williamsburg area can rejoice at free delivery). All orders must be cashless and have a $75 minimum to qualify. This 2015-opened neighborhood spot is a welcomed addition to Clinton Hill. The astute yet approachable staff are always happy to direct you to your libation of choice, whether it’s a Bordeaux blend or a Brooklyn-based artisanal whiskey. 

Celebrity sommelier André Hueston Mack spent years running the beverage program at Per Se—one of New York’s most prestigious (and expensive) ventures. Now, Mack, has left Manhattan fine dining for a community-oriented wine shop where he can get to know his neighbors. Currently, the shop is taking orders online and there is free delivery. 

Bed-Stuy favorite, Bed-Vyne Wine & Spirits has their own app for ordering wine. But you can also order via their website or by calling 347-915-1080. 

Cork dorks and music nerds can convene at this wine shop and record store on the Upper East Side. Two hundred small-production wines, emphasizing organic and biodynamic selections, and almost 1,000 albums share shelf space in the funky spot, which is decorated with photos of famous musicians, like Elton John and Led Zeppelin bassist John Paul Jones, downing glasses of vino. Vinyl Wine offers free delivery for orders over $50 for streets between 75th and 120th, all along the East Side avenues.

This Fort Greene favorite delivers straight to your door using Postmates, though free pick-up is also an option.
