Captivated by his beachy hometown of Amagansett, Long Island, Jason LaGarenne (The Anchor) adds touches of fishermen's haunts to his coastal-themed cocktail bar. A collaboration with Jeremy Strawn (Mulberry Project, Greenwich Project) and Betony barkeep Charles Hardwick, the beach-house–style lounge is decked out in seaside accents—driftwood light fixtures floating above Adirondack chairs and a sea-green floor—but the concept stops there, focusing more on easy-breezy attitude than full-fledged kitsch. "Lazy Point is a truly unspoiled area," LaGarenne says. "I wanted to pay tribute to that and let you escape the city, but not beat you over the head with it." While the food menu touts to LaGarenne's shoreside lineage, with dishes like black-tea sea scallops and a proprietary, Amagansett-sourced oyster, the drinks menu trades more nautical numbers for quaffs like the rosemary-licked Beeten Gypsy (gin, beet juice) and a Oaxacan Daquiri that employs chili-pepper bitters, date syrup and smoky mescal. Running on tap are New York–state ciders like Doc's Draft and regional beers (Whale's Tale IPA, Sixpoint Sweet Action), in addition to custom-made house blends of rosé, pinot noir and sauvignon blanc.
