Spreading the joy of Thai-Isan-inspired drinking food is KRU's latest pop-up: Laab Bar. With a focus on laab (an iconic Thai dish featuring ground meat and herbs), the roaming venture will come to Industry City’s Brooklyn Kura this weekend.
To start, nibble on small plates such as the sticky rice balls or the fiery green papaya salad. Shareable selections from the grill include the Salt Crusted Whole Fish slathered in a spicy green sauce, curried barbecue ribs and the Isan-style laab (minced meat, fresh herbs and toasted sticky rice powder). For a taste of both worlds (Thai and sake, that is), try the Lees-San Pork Sausage made with Brooklyn Kura’s own sake. And once your mouth starts feeling the heat (trust us, it will), don’t worry, the taproom will be pouring out sake all afternoon long.
Laab Bar will be at Brooklyn Kura on Sunday, July 14, from 1 to 5 pm. Walk-ins are welcome.
