This waterfront newcomer, named after a behemoth 19th-century wooden freight boat (that once floated in the nearby Greenpoint dock), employs a nautical theme with hipster twists. The tattoo flash art, vintage maritime images and un-manicured backyard garden come courtesy of co-owner and former Navy vet Johnny Swet (Jimmy at the James) and partner Benoit Sutter (718 Restaurant). The cocktail list, divided into sections titled “Show Some Respect” and “The New Frontier,” is similarly unconventional, with old-school drinks like Navy Grog and Admiral Schley’s Punch, alongside new inventive tipples like a chicken-and-waffle Sazerac and a walnut-and-black-truffle martini.
