Like moths to light, shakers and moneymakers will be drawn to the latest giant nightclub on the outskirts of the Meatpacking District—a bi-level dance palace called Glo. Located near the Maritime Hotel, this 11,000-square-foot space (formerly Powder) emphasizes the glow theme with colorful lights that bounce off the white walls, emanate from the three full-service bars and shimmer across the disco floor. Upstairs, the DJ booth has been transformed into a living room with an adjacent VIP area that has its own bar and bathroom. Guest DJs can bring a posse and look down on the madness from above. It’s what you might call high style.
