If you're in Koreatown, stood on 31st between 5th and Broadway, you may be wondering where the heck Gibson + Luce is. Such is the nature of a speakeasy. The mystery adds to the charm of this basement bar, which you'll find by heading directly for the unassuming doorway below Henry, the restaurant at Life Hotel.
There's a cool, intimate and laidback vibe here, with bar stools lining one side and plush banquettes along the other. Cocktails are very much the MO here, with artfully presented, innovative concoctions including a pineapple and fig punch (Great Expectations), strawberry-infused rye and amaro (Dangerous Liaisons) and a Japanese whiskey blend (Room Upstairs).
You'll be wanting a bite to eat, too, no doubt. Shareable finger foods dominate, with items including fried chicken, burgers, fries, ribs and pizza.
