Though the divey Meatpacking bar the Lately is chock-full of bar games and funky kitsch, this new upstairs speakeasy serves as its slinky juxtaposition. Teams Den Hospitality and LDV have closed off the upstairs staircase and installed a blue bulb. When it illuminates, it’s time to party in the glamorous ’70s-inspired spot with pastel pink couches, gold pottery decor and vintage magazine covers as artwork. Cocktails are labeled by color, with choices like the Red One, with gin, watermelon, beet and Aperol, or the Orange One, with mescal, clementine, vanilla and allspice. The Bulk Spirits program is similar to bottle service, boasting pours (8oz or 16oz) as well as house-made cordials and mixers served on cocktail carts and ceramic trays.
