Neighborhood hipsters seem to have taken up permanent residence at Barrio Chino’s rough-hewn wooden bar. The venue’s goal of giving tequila the sipping credibility of Scotch may be undermined by the jicama or lime garnishes and the accompanying glass of sangrita (a tomato-citrus nectar)—but we wouldn’t have it any other way. Fifty tequilas are available ($7–$40 per glass), and tacos from the bar menu help soak up all that booze.
