This Lower East Side bar has it all: cocktails, nibbles and ambiance. Start the night with one of Bar Belly’s specialty, like the Class Flirt with gin, cucumber, mint and lemon or the Ms. Jackson with mezcal, rum, pineapple and lime ($13 each). Bar Belly also offers several sparkling, white, rose and red wines by the glass or the bottle. To eat, try small plates like spicy eggplant with mint, pomegranate molasses, Greek yogurt and pita, Moroccan-spiced lamb meatballs with tomato ragu and aged feta, tuna tartare with fried capers, saffron aioli, watermelon radish and crostini and a selection of East and West Coast oysters that changes daily. During happy hour from 5–7pm on weekdays, the price of house wine and most cocktails drops to just $7, beer to $4 and oysters to just $1.
