Whitney Museum of American Art Community Day

Sat May 21 10am–4pm. The museum hosts a neighborhood-wide celebration in honor of the groundbreaking of its brand-new downtown building, slated to open in 2015. At various venues throughout the Meatpacking District, families will find such activities as art making with Biennial 2010 artist Aki Sasamoto, performances from LGBT youth trained at STREB, and sketching tours on the High Line.
