Time Out says

After the excitement of finding a historically important 240-year-old map subsides, then comes the realization that it needs to be restored. That duty fell upon Jonathan Derow when the Brooklyn Historical Society discovered it had one of four Bernard Ratzer maps, this one from 1769. (One of Ratzer's works was given to King George III and is now at the British Library in London; the two others are kept in storage New-York Historical Society) this one from 1769. Derow discusses the restoration process with the society's map cataloger, Carolyn Hansen.
