If drinking alcohol and eating chocolate in a zoo with a friend or lover sounds like fun to you, then you'll want to stick around for this. On February 10, the Bronx Zoo is opening its doors after hours to a 21+ crowd who can sample sustainably grown chocolate, drink wine, and learn about the role that insects have in cocoa production. This event is an effort to bring awareness to sustainable cocoa farming, and the importance of maintaining a healthy ecosystem.
The $120 ticket includes the price of admission for two people, the interactive program, chocolate and wine tastings, as well as full admission to the rest of the zoo, including (allegedly) the first bug themed carousel in the world.
To get in the spirit even earlier, why not name a roach after a special (or not-so-special) someone?
