Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus exhibit at the New-York Historical Society. What will you find inside? A trove of lore about the 4th-century Greek bishop St. Nicholas and the apocryphal tales that eventually linked him to Christmastime. It turns out several New Yorkers—including Washington Irving, artist Thomas Nast, and "A Visit from St. Nicholas" author Clement Clarke Moore—had something to do with it.
