A four-acre green space on the southern tip of Roosevelt Island, designed by renowned architect Louis I. Kahn, anchors a large waterfront space along the East River. This lush park celebrates President Franklin Delano Roosevelt's advocacy for freedom of speech and expression, freedom of worship, freedom from want and freedom from fear. The park, opened in 2012, pays tribute to the late president and his accomplishments.
History buffs will enjoy reading about Roosevelt’s leadership, while nature-lovers can appreciate the serene grounds, dotted with 120 linden trees and offering sweeping views of the Manhattan skyline.
