Cherry Grove Beach

Cherry Grove is one of two Fire Island communities (along with the adjacent Fire Island Pines) that's all about the gays. Here you'll find cute summer cottages, a collection of lively bars and eateries and a beachfront packed with queer boys and girls who are a bit less monied and body obsessed than the folks who frequent the Pines. Also, while plenty of boys flock here, the Grove is where the girls are (while there are practically none to be found in the Pines).
