Time Out says

The works on paper in this show, meant to coincide with Kusuma's Whitney retrospective, date from the four years before the Japanese artist's departure for New York, in 1957. Very much in keeping with the themes she would become known for (such as her use of hallucinatory dots), these drawings were owned by her first New York dealer, Richard Castellane.
