Wilhelm Sasnal

The Polish filmmaker and painter returns for his fifth solo outing at Kern, with photo-based canvases and works on paper revolving around the Eastman Kodak Company, the film and camera concern established in 1888 by George Eastman, which filed for bankruptcy in 2012. The obsolescence of film in the digital age and the relationship between painting and photography since the camera's invention are among the issues touched upon in Sasnal's latest efforts.
