"Swell: Art 1950–2010"

Proving that city-bound individuals are just as capable of adoring the beach as those lucky enough to be on a coast, three galleries—Metro Pictures, Nyehaus and Friedrich Petzel—mount an exhibition of work that is either directly or tangentially influenced by surfing and surf culture. The long list of artists includes Larry Bell, Roe Ethridge, Sister Mary Corita and Ed Ruscha, among many others.
