In the art world, Jeanette Hayes is as close as it gets to a viral superstar. After graduating from Pratt, the visual artist took the Internet by storm with her digital-analog hybrids: oil paintings that combine iPhone icons with religious figures, or cast anime girls as Willem de Kooning’s women. She had her own solo show in Rome, and even did an installation at Alexander Wang’s Fashion Week after-party. She plans to cover her new body of work in familiar citations from pop culture, commenting, “Right now, I’m thinking about pure density, like jam-packing imagery.” View her works below, and if you haven’t already, be sure to follow her on Instagram.
