28-year-old visual artist Alonsa Guevara moved to New York City four years ago, having spent much of her childhood growing up in the Ecuadoran jungle. She currently lives in Bay Ridge and spent the past year working in Tribeca as part of the New York Academy of Art’s fellowship program. Her works—which will be displayed in the Lower East Side’s Mark Miller Gallery—blend the visuals of South America and the manic pace of NYC, creating her own world in the process.
