Rochelle Feinstein, "The Estate of Rochelle F."

Time Out says

New paintings and ink drawings by this veteran artist whose text-laden works often comment on pop culture with a sardonic sense of humor. This show was inspired by the 2009 economic downturn, when the artist surveyed the contents of her studio and decided to create her next body of work using only existing "assets"—which is to say, old stretchers, unfinished paintings and unused art supplies. As the show's title—which includes a term usually reserved for dead artists—suggests, Feinstein here may be commenting on the scarcity-commodity nature of fine art, while also ruefully noting the economic insecurities of being an artist.
