Couch potato meets Arte Povera in the latest works by Upson, an artist who has previously created cast-polyurethane replicas of housed furnishings such as mattresses and rugs. She continues in a similar vein here, this time with sofas and sofa cushions, hung on the walls and placed on the floors. Perhaps to enhance the game-day vibe, there are stacks of found aluminum soda cans scattered about, each filled with a chunk of solid aluminum that was poured while molten through a hole in the bottom of the can.
