Josephine Halvorson, "What Looks Back"

Time Out says

Halvorson practices a sort of itinerant emo realism, wringing evocative associations from chance encounters with such quotidian, easily overlooked subjects as a pile of books, an empty wooden shelf and coals glowing in a cast-iron stove. This show features more of the same, painted, as usual, on site in a single session in locations ranging from California to Iceland.
