Turrell's decades-long megaproject—creating a naked-eye observatory out of an extinct volcano in northern New Mexico—serves as centerpiece of this exhibition, which features the artist's photos of the project site, bronze and plaster models of the various chambers and spaces designed for the crater's interior, and various spin-off installations. As is usually the case when experiencing the artist's exploration of perceptual phenomena, the mind invariably trumps the eye in this show.
