Harun Farocki, Parallel

This is the German filmmaker’s first show since his death in July at age 70, and it features his final video installation, Parallel 1-1V, which tracks the evolution of computer-game graphics from the early 1980s to the present. Also on view is another video from 1983, which documents a Playmate photo shoot for German Playboy. Both pieces exemplify the artist’s career-long fascination with the sociopolitical impact of image technologies.
