In 1938, the Hawaiian Pineapple Company offered O’Keeffe an nine-week, all expenses paid trip to the islands to create a painting of the company's principle product. Over the course of the trip, she painted fabulous scenes of the local flora, fauna and landscape. The fruits of her labors flower in this exhibit.
