"Fixed Variable"

A companion show to Hauser & Wirth's "The Photographic Object, 1970," "Fixed Variable" presents recent stabs at creating a fine-art hybrid of photography and sculpture at the gallery's Chelsea location. The works here, by such artists as Ethan Greenbaum, Josh Kolbo and Letha Wilson, are noticeably slicker than their antecedents and lack the latter's funky, hippyish vibe but share the same aim of expanding the possibilities of photography as a medium.
