Salon 94 Bowery and Paul Kasmin Gallery share hosting duties for this double dose of work by Dzine, the Puerto Rican–American artist also known as Carlos Rolon. The artist makes a point of noting the influence of his dual heritage on his efforts, and indeed, his roomlike installations featuring elaborate chandeliers, his blinged-out paintings incorporating Swarovski crystals, and his mosaics made with vintage jewelry or mirrored shards exhibit the sort of Latin exuberance found in the work of Gaudí or Oscar Niemeyer. His latest show includes more mirror mosaics, an ornamented palm tree and a bicycle tricked out with a sound system playing salsa music.
