Organized by internationally renowned curator, Francesco Bonami, this show at Luxembourg & Dayan spotlights new work by Derrick Adams inspired, according to the artist by an article of Catholic teaching that encourages “a life which seeks God in everything.” The exhibition ponders the connection between the “space of the mind,” and that of the home in a series of portraits on paper rendered in a style resembling marquetry, a trademark motif for the artist. These images are hung on wallpaper patterned with fanciful vignettes of domestic interiors—a pairing of elements meant to evoke a link between “the intimate and the infinite.”
