Cindy Ji Hye Kim

Painting exclusively in white, black and gray, Kim plays in the same figurative ballpark as Ellen Berkenblit and Dana Schutz: She employs a similar vocabulary of flattened cartoonish forms to explore themes that, if not quite feminist, are certainly woman-centric. Her two-gallery show (co-presented with Helena Anrather) delivers a lot of bang for the viewing buck.
