Bruce Nauman, One Hundred Fish Fountain

Inspired by the artist's memories of boyhood fishing trips, this 2005 work consists of 100 bronze casts of bass and catfish molded from actual specimens. The sculptures have been suspended into a room-filling installation by wires hanging from the ceiling, creating the image of a river or lake jumping with fish—an impression aided by spouts of water jetting from numerous holes in each.
