You might say that Austin Lee’s take on post-Kenny Scharf Pop Art pushes cheerfulness to the point of psychosis, filled as it is with a hallucinatory riot of cartoonish imagery that evokes childlike wonder and innocence (hearts, flowers, My Pretty Ponies) while occasionally veering into something much creepier (scenes of Gumby-like characters nailed to crosses).
