Artist Phoebe Berglund's four day residency at the Wythe Hotel will showcase images of her recent international dance tour where she slept in hotels in Shanghai, Helsinki, Vienna, Mexico City, Brussels, Manchester and NYC. On Saturday and Sunday, she'll have open studio hours from 5 to 7pm and on Tuesday, January 21, she'll present her work and discuss sleep as part of her creative practice, sleep as a refuge from capitalism, the sleeper as a character in her dances, sleep as an action in dance scores, sleep walking, trance states in performance and her own private somatic practice. The tired among us can sure appreciate.
