Time Out says

Covering the years 1947 to 1997, this exhibition surveys the course of subcontinental art from the genesis of Indian modernism shortly after independence (via the Progressive Artists’ Group, whose members mixed Post-Impressionism, Cubism and Expressionism styles with traditional Indian forms and subjects), to the fin-de-siècle, when contemporary Indian art first began to attract international attention. A follow-up section follows India’s rise to global-art powerhouse during the past 20 years.
