Originally opened as a pop-up gallery in 2013, 55 Gansevoort has remained a going concern with a rather unique twist on gallery hours: It's open 24/7 because exhibitions there are meant to be viewed entirely from the street. The space is the brainchild of dealer Ellie Rines, who'd previously work at Christie’s, Sotheby’s, Knoedler and Craig Starr Gallery before going into business for herself.
