Opened in 1970, 112 Greene Street in Soho was one of New York's first artist-run venues. Alan Saret, Gordon Matta-Clark and Jeffrey Lew, among others, were central to the operation of the space, which often featured experimental exhibitions, like a garden built and maintained within the gallery walls.
