The NYBG hosts a weekend-long festival celebrating the bounty of the autumn harvest. All proceeds benefit the Botanical Garden's Edible Academy, a program that educates children and adults about gardening and healthy living. On Saturday, there's lots of kid-friendly fun to be had in the Family Garden (2–5:30pm), including activities featuring bees and butterflies and tours of the Edible Academy every hour on the hour. Tots can also explore tractors, diggers and other garden machinery. On Sunday (11am–2pm), foodie families can enjoy a picnic lunch designed by celebrity chef Mario Batali, then sit in on a cooking demonstration in the Conservatory Tent led by Batali and special guest Carla Hall of The Chew (2–2:45pm) for an additional fee. All ages.
