The Cat Who Went to Heaven

Based on the award-winning children’s book by Elizabeth Coatsworth, this captivating performance tells the story of an artist and his loyal cat in ancient Japan, and transports young audiences to another place and time using bunraku (traditional Japanese puppet theater) and shadow puppetry. Set to a beautiful jazz score featuring traditional Japanese instrumentation, the show introduces children to the cultural traditions of Japan and teaches the value of loyalty. Ages 7 to 10.
