Little ones transform bright paper squares into stunning origami figures while learning about the mathematical and scientific principles behind the awesome ancient art form. Weeklong sessions begin with the history of the Japanese art of paper folding, followed by lessons in basic folds (like the book, petal and triangle folds) and plenty of practice in patience and accuracy. At the end of the week, campers work together, applying their new skills to make a complex origami model, such as a bird or dragon. Small class sizes guarantee plenty of personal attention, and everyone leaves camp with beautiful works of art they’ve crafted themselves. Ages 5 and up.
