Reimagine End of Life

It's tough talking to little ones about death — there's a lot of big questions and grown-ups don't always have the answers. Yet with this festival curious children can explore these topics by seeing how different cultures create art to honor their dead and celebrate the circle of life. Take your family to a Day of the Dead celebration with folk art and live music at St. Mark’s Church in the Bowery (Oct 26-28, 12:00pm-6:00pm); attend a special storytime reading of When Dinosaurs Die at the Mosholu Library (Oct 29, 3:30pm-4:30pm); and craft ancestral masks celebrating people from your family who came before at New York Open Center (Oct 28, 1:00pm-3:00pm, ages 10 and up).
