In an effort to raise awareness of low-income New Yorkers' gaps in education, income and nutrition, United Way invites families to a festival at Brooklyn Bridge Park's Pier 1, complete with live music by the Brown Rice Family and Son de Brooklyn, specialty food trucks and kid-friendly activities like parachute games, face painting. readomg circles, book giveaways, sports activities and a chance to say hello to Elmo and his neighbor, Mando. All ages.
