Puppets on Film

BAMcinematek and the Jim Henson Foundation have again joined forces to highlight live puppetry in cinema, presenting a 70-minute lineup of kid-friendly short films to families on Saturday, October 25 (11am). Creative kids can also take part in family puppet workshops in which they'll try their hand at the craft (Sat at 10am and 12:30pm) or create their own marionettes (Sun at 10am and 12:15pm) iwth help from a master puppeteer. Other kid-friendly offerings include The Dark Crystal Fan Fest (Fri) and full-length screenings including Muppets Most Wanted and Davy Jones' Locker (Sat). Special guests such as the designers behind Star Wars' Yoda and Jabba the Hut will make appearances at select screenings. See website for full schedule. Ages 4 and up.
