Since this is the only time this century when the date will align perfectly with the first five digits of pi (3.14), hundreds of math enthusiasts will descend on Madison Square Park for a special illuminated demonstration honoring the number. At 9am on the morning of the event, families can take part in free activities in the park and count down together at 9:26am before heading to the museum for more fun throughout the day. In the evening, a whimsical display will form around the park's north fountain at 9pm, created with glowing light sticks held by New Yorkers. After a symbolic countdown to 9:26pm, attendees can enjoy free hot chocolate and pie. All ages.
