Time Out says

The hills are aliiive... (you know the drill). Is your Broadway-bound little one the next Louisa, Brigitta, Marta, Gretl, Freidrich or Kurt? Bring 'em to an open casting for a live December 5th broadcast of The Sound of Music on NBC, and they just might get lucky. Country star Carrie Underwood may have already nabbed the role of Maria, but the Von Trapp children's parts are still up for grabs. Be prepared to sing a short, traditional musical theater song acapella, but bring sheet music—you may be asked to repeat it alongside accompaniment. Also, bring along your headshot, resume, contact information, snacks (you'll likely be waiting a few hours), and only one chaperone per child will be allowed inside the audition. Check in starts at 8am, and do not arrive before then. Break a leg! Ages 6 to 14.
