Family game night is about to get a Gotham twist!

Little city slickers can show their hometown pride with themed puzzles, coloring books, decks of cards and other nifty accessories. Trust us, they'll gobble up these toys in a New York minute. (And you might be inclined to snag some for yourself, Mom and Dad.)

While you're staying in and enjoying fun activities at home, be sure to try your hand at these challenging board games and download free coloring book pages of your kiddos' favorite characters. If you're missing NYC's best family attractions virtual museum tours, storytimes and performances will bring the best of the city right to your couch—no commute required.

NYC toys and games

1. Toy cars and trucks

Tots can zip around the apartment with pint-sized versions of the vehicles they see every day: a yellow cab, a park ranger's pick-up truck, among others. If you ask us, tow truck encounters are a lot better in the living room than on the BQE. $19.

2. Coloring book

Little Picassos can reimagine New York City in their own way: All they need are some freshly-sharpened colored pencils, and the city's best attractions—from the Central Park Zoo to the Museum of Natural History—are ready for a few strokes of color. $4.

3. Playing cards

Go Fish and Gin Rummy are a whole lot cooler when the deck of cards sports a love for the greatest city in the world. Touristy? Perhaps. Necessary for the playroom? Absolutely. $4.

4. 3D Brooklyn Bridge Puzzle

One of the most beloved attractions in Kings County can be recreated right on your coffee table (or the kitchen table for good measure). How quickly do you think you can assemble this 32-inch-wide, 7-inch-high puzzle? Its 64 pieces make the building process easier for little hands who are eager for a quick assembly. $13.

5. 3D Statue of Liberty Puzzle

Who doesn't love Lady Liberty? In our opinion, this 10-inch high 3D puzzle is just as majestic as Frederic Auguste Bartholdi's creation. $13.

6. Blocks

Pro tip: Never leave the MoMA without scoping out the souvenirs. This 74-piece block set by James Paulius is proof. Budding engineers will love stacking and sorting through the gorgeous beech wood pieces that are just as gorgeous as the NYC skyline itself. $150.

7. Piano dance mat

No New York kid is going to say no to a pitstop at FAO Schwarz. Channel Tom Hanks in Big and score one of these piano mats for yourself. You might want to snag earplugs, too, if you have a little Fred Astaire in the house. $80.

8. Floor puzzle

Who better to entertain the kiddos at home than the New York Puzzle Company? This two-foot-wide puzzle will have little ones hopping all over the place as they try to recreate the city's subway map. $21.
