Time Out says

NYC kids are generally taught to fear the sight of creepy crawlers, but this midday fest celebrates them for their important role in the lives of plants. Join in a bug costume contest followed by a parade at noon, and watch lady bugs and praying mantises be released into the wild. Little ones can also oogle butterflies and take part in bug-themed crafts. The Dad Beats provide tunes, while Margaret Palca Bakes and House of Pizza cater snacks and Italian ices. Ages 2 to 8.
